I’ve really been wanting to set up a community composting project for quite some time, but since urban ag isn’t my paying, full-time profession right now I haven’t had the time to put in by myself. Everytime I see piles of dried up leaves on the side of the road and big empty lots I just feel like it’s a no brainer. Is anyone else interested in helping me organize this? If we get a group to meet monthly and start writing letters to aldermen, business owners, homeowners, etc I think it’s very doable. I give buckets to friends and collect compost at work, at home and anywhere I can get it, but imagine if more people had buckets and easy access to a community compost site.
