TUG-ALL: Aug 21st Teutonia Urban Gardens: Housing Project Opens includes a garden managed by local school.
Urban Aquaculture will give you a Pass for State Fair if you contribute 4 hours of time to help out : Orientation: July 29th UEC 7:00, if you want to get a pass into the State Fair.

Great meeting with city: Martha, Sharon, Mike V, meeting to allow livestock into the city of Milwaukee. Chicken tour in Madison on July 21st. Will tour chicken coops in Madison.
Need to meet with Maria Pandosi who is in charge with City comprehensive plan to include, healthy eating, small green jobs, farmers market, enabling language using community distance for fresh produce. Cooking classes, growing farms in the city etc. Gardens as part of community
Must work with New School of Public Health at UWM, City Health Department.
Requested that all TIFF include green alleys, green roofs, etc.
Pilot green project on North Avenue, the green mile.
Ask city to sponsor a National Green Roof conference: they will teach green roof workshops. Get local roof companies to help sponsor it.
Land tenure: they want us to give them the language for the best way to hold land for tenure. They want long term examples and where to go with it. Bring examples and how it is managed. Close or next to church or school, passive security, local organizations.

Researching number of 4 chickens, distance between chickens and next closest dwelling yet to be determined. Committee will talk to city health department about issues. Permits

(Keep Greater Milwaukee, is currently sponsoring a training and certification for green roofs.)
Ron presented at Kellogg
Ron was invited to The Food and Fitness at Kellogg. Attendees were from 9 cities that are funded by Kellogg. Milwaukee is not one of the fundees. Ron spoke about policy changes in Milwaukee. Ron presented that we have done is built a community of practice through the urban ag network. He basically said that we are building practice across sectors. We are not creating an organization we are just networking.
