The Victory Garden Initiative

The Victory Garden Initiative promotes the use of our own backyards (and front yards and rooftops and patios) for the production of food. We are gardeners supporting other gardeners in their own paths towards a self-sufficient, sustainable, and healthy food supply. Through mentoring and modeling and outreach we aim to make Victory Gardening a way of life for everyone.

Lisa and Swee Sim of Future Green in Bayview are the Bayview Victory Garden Coordinators. Claire Moore of the Pink House is the Riverwest Victory Garden Coordinator. Gretchen Mead is the Coordinator for Shorewood. We are currently seeking Victory Garden Initiative Coordinators in every neighbor hood in Milwaukee, if you have a knack for leadership and and believe in our cause please contact gretchenmead@hotmail.com.
